It is decorated with four stylised cranes gliding through the air. In Japanese culture, cranes are celebrated as auspicious symbols of longevity, peace, and good fortune. The entire interior of both the base and the inside of the lid is finished with the "Nashiji" (gold flake scattering) lacquer technique. This provides a glittering golden contrast against the deep red exterior. 【Condition Report】 The item is in good vintage condition with a smooth, glossy finish on the exterior. However, it shows minor signs of age and wear: ・There are a few small lacquer chips and peeling visible in the golden Nashiji finish on the interior base and along the inner corners. ・A tiny pinhole-sized mark/scratch is present on the exterior surface of the lid, located to the right of the upper cranes.
