KPM Berlin - Large Antique Porcelain Figural Saliere / Sweetmeat Dish "Summer" - 21 cm - c. 1900 An exquisite, large antique porcelain figural sweetmeat dish (or centerpiece) titled "Summer" (*Die Gärtnerin* / *Winzerfigur*), crafted by the world-renowned Royal Porcelain Manufactory (KPM) in Berlin during the late 19th or early 20th century (c. 1900). This magnificent piece is based on the famous historical model No. 140, created around 1765 by master modeler Friedrich Elias Meyer for the First Potsdam Service commissioned by King Frederick the Great. The sculpture depicts a young woman in Rococo attire; she holds a bouquet of flowers and supports a large bowl featuring a finely detailed relief pattern that mimics basket-weaving. The exterior of the bowl is adorned with delicate applied forget-me-not blossoms, while the interior surface is enhanced by superb hand-painted floral bouquets. The entire composition rests on an elegant, asymmetrical gilded base in the Rocaille style. Photos are part of the description.
