Glenmorangie The Lasanta 3rd Edition. This beloved 12-year-old single malt from the Scottish Highlands is a textbook example of Glenmorangie craftsmanship, combined with the rich influences of carefully selected sherry casks. The base of this whisky matures traditionally in American oak ex-bourbon casks, providing the distillery's characteristic smooth and floral notes. Subsequently, this expression has undergone an extensive finish in the very best Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks from Jerez, in contrast to the current Lasanta bottlings, which have only spent a short time in a sherry seasoned cask. On the nose, aromas of warm spices, raisins soaked in chocolate, honey, and mild toffee. The palate is full and silky smooth, with notes of juicy sultanas, orange segments, walnuts, and butterscotch. The finish is long, warming, and deliciously spicy with a subtle hint of dark chocolate. The bottle and the original box are in excellent condition. The label and capsule are completely intact, as can be seen in the photos. A fantastic addition for the collector, or simply a lovely bottle to open on a special evening.
