Comes with its original tomobako box and tomonuno wrapping cloth. 【Artist Profile】 Yoshiro Kimura is the potter behind Taisogama kiln, based in Higashihiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture, where he built his kiln in 1975 after graduating from the Faculty of Commerce at Okayama Shoka University in 1970. He was first selected for the Japan Traditional Kogei Exhibition in 1976 and won the Grand Prize at the Hiroshima Prefecture Art Exhibition in 1977. His career includes the Hiroshima Prefecture Artists Association 10th Anniversary Special Award (1980), the Encouragement Award at the Japan Traditional Kogei Exhibition (1984), participation in the Contemporary Japanese Ceramics Exhibition in the United States (1987), a runner-up prize at the Faenza International Ceramics Biennale (1989), the Hiroshima Art Grant (1990), and participation in the Faenza International Ceramics Biennale (1991). He has exhibited internationally, including at "100 Selected Works of Japanese Ceramics" (1992) and exhibitions held worldwide (1998), and taught ceramics at universities in Spain and Portugal in 1999.
