Dichtung (165) Vintage - Showa Teisei-in RARE

This is an exceptionally rare, pristine collector's lot featuring a set of 160 vintage Japanese "Teisei-in" (Correction Seals / Hanko), together with 5 ordinary personal name seals (Mitome-in) included for size and style comparison. These stamps are brand new old stock from the late Showa to early Heisei era, completely unused and preserved in beautiful vintage condition. These were genuine office equipment used in real Japanese workplaces — banks, government offices, and corporations — rather than decorative or artistic objects. In traditional Japanese business culture, these tiny 6mm stamps played a vital role: when an error was made on official financial ledgers, government documents, or corporate contracts, a standard signature was not used. Instead, a dedicated, miniature name stamp called a "Teisei-in" was required to authorize and verify the correction. Each stamp in this lot features a different Japanese family name carved into the face with classic typography. The 5 additional ordinary hanko included in this lot are everyday personal seals (Mitome-in), added so buyers can directly compare their size, shape, and carving style against the specialized correction seals. Today, as Japan rapidly transitions into a digital, paperless society with the government actively abolishing the traditional seal culture, these physical hanko stamps — along with the office practices that relied on them — are completely vanishing. They are no longer being newly manufactured in this classic style. This collection represents a finite, historical piece of Japanese mid-century office culture that will never be reproduced. Perfect for international collectors, history enthusiasts, junk journaling, scrapbooking, leathercrafting, or as a unique oriental display piece. [Dimensions] Length (per piece): approx. 6.0 cm Stamp face diameter: approx. 0.6 cm (Oval/小判型) [Weight] Total weight of the set (165 pieces incl. 5 comparison seals): approx. 370 grams [Shipping method] Shipping: Carefully packed and shipped via DHL or EMS with tracking and insurance. Customs & VAT: Please note that Value Added Tax (VAT), import duties, and customs fees are the buyer's responsibility and may be collected by your local customs office upon delivery. Please note that as of 1 July 2026, the EU has abolished the de minimis customs exemption. All shipments to EU countries are now subject to import duties and VAT regardless of the declared value of the goods. For shipments with a declared value under €150, an additional customs processing fee of €3 may also apply.
