Seltenes Keichousaurus hui - Fossiles Skelett - 30 cm - 13 cm
Beautiful and highly decorative fossil specimen of Keichousaurus hui, a small marine reptile from the Triassic Period, approximately 240 million years old.
This specimen comes from China, from the famous Triassic deposits of Guizhou Province, renowned worldwide for their exceptionally preserved marine reptile fauna.
The fossil displays a remarkably complete and articulated skeleton. The long neck and skull are clearly visible, together with an impressive rib cage, vertebral column, pelvis, forelimbs and hind limbs. Numerous individual bones remain distinctly recognizable, producing a very attractive anatomical presentation.
Particularly noteworthy are the well-defined ribs, robust limb bones and elongated cervical vertebrae characteristic of Keichousaurus. The specimen is preserved in its original sedimentary matrix, creating excellent contrast between the dark fossilized bones and the lighter surrounding rock.
Keichousaurus was a pachypleurosaur, an early marine reptile adapted to shallow coastal environments during the Middle Triassic. It is one of the most iconic fossil reptiles from the Triassic deposits of southern China.
The matrix shows several fracture and stabilization/reassembly lines associated with extraction and preparation of the fossil. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the description.
An impressive display specimen suitable for a serious fossil collection, natural-history cabinet or interior display.
