Iconic Danish Trapez pendant lamp designed by Danish architect and designer Christian Hvidt for Nordisk Solar.

The Trapez pendant lamp features a distinctive layered construction of three graduated shades in white lacquered metal. The broad outer shade surrounds a smaller reflector and a cylindrical lower shade, creating a sculptural and architectural silhouette.

The carefully arranged shades conceal the light source and distribute the light indirectly, providing soft and comfortable illumination with reduced glare. A characteristic detail of the design is the contrasting red/orange internal reflector, which is partly hidden when the lamp is switched off and creates a warm glow when illuminated.

The combination of clean geometric forms, layered construction and controlled light distribution is characteristic of Danish Scandinavian lighting design. The lamp has a striking yet minimalist appearance and is particularly well suited for use above a dining table or in a modern Scandinavian interior.
