Vase - Porzellan - Japan - Landschaftsfigur Tokkuri - Kutani Shoho (九谷松邦) (Ohne mindestpreis)

Title: Japanese Kutani Shoho Tokkuri Sake Vessel with Landscape & Figure Panels, Tomobako (共箱) Artist: Kutani Shoho (九谷松邦) Technique: Aka-e, overglaze polychrome painting, partial gilding decoration Dimensions: approx. H 16.5 × Body Dia. 14 cm (H 6.5 × Body Dia. 5.5 in) Weight: 620 g Tomobako dimensions: H 29.5 × W 15.5 × D 15.5 cm (H 11.6 × W 6.1 × D 6.1 in) Material: Porcelain body with white crackle glaze Period: Late Showa era, circa 1970‑1980 This is a Tokkuri sake vessel crafted by Japanese Kutani ware artisan Kutani Shoho (九谷松邦). It may also be displayed as a vase. Made using the classic Kutani Aka-e overglaze colour technique. The entire piece has a white crackle glaze base, adorned with red brocade filling patterns, hand-painted multicoloured overglaze enamel and refined partial gilding. This elegant, well-proportioned vessel features multiple shaped medallion panels, with layered composition. It represents orthodox Kutani ware of the Showa period. It is exquisitely crafted. One panel depicts a gathering of scholars with vivid, graceful figures; the other shows a tranquil antique scene of a Japanese mountain village. Red gilded brocade patterns embellish the background areas. Gilded bands decorate the neck and foot, and the rim is fully gilded. The gilding is smooth and lustrous, **the colours are rich and vibrant** with meticulous brushwork. The subdued glaze pairs beautifully with opulent enamel decoration, making it a versatile ornamental piece for interior display. The base bears the artisan’s handwritten red mark “Kutani Shoho (九谷松邦)”. It comes with the original wooden tomobako (共箱) and yellow storage cloth. The lid of the wooden box has calligraphy “Zushuki (図酒器)”, meaning illustrated sake vessel. Due to age, the glaze has natural craquelure and signs of age-related use. No cracks, no repairs. Natural craquelure is a characteristic feature of vintage Kutani ware. The original tomobako has dust, age wear and adhesive tape marks. Overall in good vintage condition for its age.
