SELTENES SEMSEYITE – Claus-Friedrich Mine, St. Andreasberg, Harz, Deutschland Exemplar - Höhe: 6.2 cm - Breite: 4.5 cm- 75 g
A highly distinctive and collectible semseyite specimen from the classic Claus-Friedrich Mine, St. Andreasberg, Harz Mountains, Germany.
The display surface is richly covered by numerous steel-grey to silvery metallic semseyite aggregates, developed in characteristic radiating, fan-shaped and bladed formations. Many of the crystal groups form striking rosette-like patterns, producing a strong metallic sheen and an attractive three-dimensional texture across the specimen.
The dense concentration of well-developed aggregates gives the piece a particularly aesthetic appearance, while the pale host rock provides excellent contrast to the dark metallic mineralization.
The Claus-Friedrich Mine is part of the historic St. Andreasberg mining district, a locality renowned for complex hydrothermal ore assemblages and a wide variety of rare silver-, lead- and arsenic-bearing minerals. Semseyite from this locality is especially interesting to collectors of classic German minerals and historic European mining districts.
A very attractive cabinet specimen combining rare mineralogy, classic provenance and strong visual appeal
