Japanese Studio Pottery Stoneware Vase with Unique Flowing Glaze - 26cm - Statue Töpferware - Japan (Ohne mindestpreis)

Japanese Studio Pottery Stoneware Vase with Unique Flowing Glaze - 26cm An exceptional and highly artistic vintage Japanese studio ceramic flower vase (花瓶 - Kabin / 花入 - Hanaire), beautifully designed with a distinct bottle-necked form and an undulating bulbous base. The black-lacquered underside of the foot rim features a clear, square-impressed artist stamp reading "拓" (Taku). The vase stands out for its remarkably unique and dynamic multi-layered glaze application. The neck and upper body are covered in a sleek, metallic dark plum-brown and iron-black glaze that flows downward into rich, thick organic droplets mimicking natural lava or melting wax. This dark overglaze cascades dramatically over a lower layer of deep forest-green and tenmoku-style glazes, leaving raw, unglazed patches of the smooth, sandy-tan stoneware body exposed on the base and neck. The contrast between the high-gloss, reflective black runs and the textured, matte unglazed ceramic surface provides a stunning, abstract three-dimensional quality from every viewing angle. With a solid weight of over 1.2 kg and a beautifully irregular hand-thrown rim, this one-of-a-kind vessel serves as a magnificent standalone sculpture or a powerful rustic container for Ikebana floral arrangements. - Artisan/Mark: 拓 (Taku) - Item Type: Sculptural Studio Pottery Flower Vase (Hanaire) - Material: Glazed Stoneware / Ceramic - Country of Origin: Japan - Dimensions: 26 cm (Height) x 13 cm (Width) x 13 cm (Depth) - Weight: 1219 g (1.22 kg) - Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The structural integrity is perfect, the colors remain incredibly vibrant, and the flowing glazes display a brilliant mirror-like luster. The unglazed sandy sections and foot rim are clean, displaying standard shelf-aging and minor firing variations traditional to hand-crafted studio pottery. A small protective soft felt pad is attached to the lower outer edge of the foot rim for scratch-free placement. Please check the detailed close-up photographs carefully to appreciate this fine work.
