STAR WARS – HAN SOLO IN CARBONIT-REPLIKATION EN FERTIGUNG?

STAR WARS – HAN SOLO IN CARBONITE – LIFE-SIZE REPLICA WITH ILLUMINATED BASE

An extraordinary piece of Star Wars history for true fans and collectors!

Offered for sale is an impressive life-size replica of Han Solo frozen in carbonite, as famously seen in the legendary Star Wars films The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

With an overall height of approximately 217 cm (85.4 in), a highly detailed carbonite slab, numerous control boxes along the sides, and an impressive red illuminated base, this piece is an absolute eye-catcher for any Star Wars collection, home theater, or extraordinary display space.

SPECIAL PROVENANCE – FROM THE RUBIES GERMANY SHOWROOM

We acquired this replica around 2018 directly from the former Rubies Deutschland GmbH, a company that distributed numerous Star Wars costumes and licensed products, among other items. At the time, this imposing piece was displayed in the company’s showroom.

In our estimation, the replica may already be 20 years old or more. However, we do not know the exact year of manufacture or the original manufacturer. We have no documentation confirming official licensing. The item is therefore expressly offered as a replica and not as a documented original collectible or original movie prop.

DETAILED DESIGN AND MATERIALS

Han Solo is impressively depicted in his characteristic pose, with an expressive face, raised hands, and three-dimensionally sculpted clothing. The irregular carbonite surface and metallic-looking finish in shades of silver, gray, and anthracite give the replica a fascinating sense of depth and dimension.

In our assessment, the object appears to be made predominantly from a hard, rigid foam or plastic material with a coated surface. The exact material composition is unknown. The hollow construction at the rear includes additional wooden reinforcement. The overall craftsmanship also suggests that this is an older, elaborately produced display piece.

THE HIGHLIGHT: THE RED ILLUMINATED BASE

A particularly striking feature is the large semicircular base. When switched on, an intense red-orange light shines through numerous elongated slots and circular openings. Especially in subdued room lighting, this creates an impressive science-fiction effect that dramatically showcases the entire replica.

The lighting is functional, as shown in our current auction photos. A Sun Blaze light fixture with a U.S. 120 V rating is installed inside the base. It is not known whether this fixture was originally part of the replica or was installed at a later date. The electrical system should be professionally inspected before continuous use in Germany; the 120 V light fixture must not be connected directly to a 230 V power supply.

APPROXIMATE DIMENSIONS

• Overall height including base: 217 cm (85.4 in)
• Height of carbonite slab: 201 cm (79.1 in)
• Width of carbonite slab: 76 cm (29.9 in)
• In addition, the control boxes and fittings on the sides project outward at an angle.
• Maximum width of base: 100 cm (39.4 in)

All dimensions are approximate. Depth and weight have not been determined.

CONDITION AND KNOWN DEFECTS

This is an older, pre-owned showroom display piece and shows corresponding signs of age, use, and display. In addition to the deliberately irregular carbonite surface, there are scratches, areas of chipped paint, and individual areas of damage.

We would specifically like to point out the following defects:

• Three smaller attachments are missing from the side control boxes on one side. A skilled enthusiast may potentially be able to reproduce these parts.
• A small lever is missing from the lower section on the opposite side.
• There is a somewhat more noticeable area of damage to one foot of the Han Solo figure.
• The base and rear also show visible signs of use, wear, and workmanship in some areas.

The defects mentioned above are documented in the auction photos. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the condition description.

AN EXTRAORDINARY COLLECTOR’S PIECE

The combination of the life-size carbonite slab, side-mounted controls, impressive illuminated base, and interesting provenance from the former Rubies showroom makes this replica a particularly distinctive piece for Star Wars enthusiasts.

Whether as the centerpiece of a collection, in a home theater, or as an extraordinary decorative display, Han Solo in carbonite is guaranteed to attract attention!

COLLECTION AND ITEMS INCLUDED

Due to its size and the delicate attached components, we prefer personal collection. Collection by a freight carrier may also be possible by prior arrangement.

The sale includes the carbonite replica shown in the photographs and the illuminated base, together with the existing components, in the condition shown in the photos.
