Yamada Kazu (山田和) (b.1954) - Flasche - Steinzeug - Iga-Ware Sake-Flasche (Tokkuri) von Kazu Yamada — Mit originaler Tomobako-Box und Tomonuno-Tuch

Iga Ware Sake Bottle (Tokkuri) by Kazu Yamada — With Original Tomobako Box and Tomonuno Cloth A rugged, expressive sake bottle by Kazu Yamada, a distinguished contemporary potter trained under the celebrated master Tokuro Kato. Carved with the character "力" on the base, the tokkuri displays the raw, unglazed clay body typical of Iga ware, punctuated by streaks of natural ash glaze that pool and run in deep green vitreous "bidoro" trails against a warm, fire-scorched surface. The irregular, slightly asymmetrical form embraces the Momoyama-inspired aesthetic of intentional imperfection that has long defined the finest Iga wares. Comes with its original tomobako box and tomonuno wrapping cloth. 【Artist Profile】 Kazu Yamada (b.1954) was born in Tokoname, Aichi Prefecture, into a family of noted potters — his grandfather was the second-generation Yamada Josan, his father the Nitten-exhibiting potter Kenkichi Yamada, and his uncle the Living National Treasure of Tokoname ware, third-generation Yamada Josan. After graduating from the Ceramics Course at Osaka University of Arts in 1976, he built his own kiln in the Echizen pottery village and studied under the renowned master potter Tokuro Kato, whose teaching that "fine Shino can be made from Echizen clay" continues to guide his practice. Working chiefly in Shino, kaki-glazed Oribe, and Iga ware, Yamada has also created work in Germany, and in 2020 his work entered the permanent collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. 【Condition】 Excellent. Minor signs of age commensurate with careful storage. 【Shipping】 Carefully packed and shipped internationally with full tracking for safe delivery. ============================================= *** IMPORTANT SHIPPING NOTICE - PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING *** ============================================= 【SHIPPING NOTICE FOR CERTAIN EU COUNTRIES】 Due to customs issues with IOSS shipments, Japan Post EMS is currently unable to accept parcels valued at €150 or less to the following countries: >> AUSTRIA / BELGIUM / DENMARK / FINLAND / FRANCE / GERMANY / LUXEMBOURG / PORTUGAL If your delivery address is in one of these countries and the final price is €150 or less, shipping may be delayed until EMS resumes, or the item may need to be sent by an alternative courier at additional shipping cost.
