Ein zweiflügeliger Paravent mit Felsen inmitten von Wellen und Pflaumenblüten. - Papier, Seide - Japan - Showa-Zeit (zweite Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts)
A refined Japanese two-panel folding screen incorporating two compositions on fabric. To the left, rugged rocks rise dramatically from highly stylised waves; to the right, the angular branches of a blossoming plum tree (ume) extend elegantly across the luminous surface.
The contrast between the enduring strength of rock and water and the delicate flowering plum creates a poetic balance between permanence and renewal.
Byōbu (屏風), literally “wind protection screens,” are traditional Japanese folding screens originally created to divide spaces and today appreciated above all as striking wall-mounted paintings.
--- The byobu is in good condition. Moisture stains along the panel joints. Please refer to the pictures for further details.
The item will be carefully packed and shipped via DHL or FedEx, accompanied by the original certificate of authenticity issued by Mastromauro Japanese art gallery based in Milan, Italy.
