Item Description
This is a Japanese tabletop chest with three drawers, made of wood and finished in lacquer with maki-e style decoration. A black lacquer ground is dusted with fine gold powder. Over it, a continuous scene of weeping willow, pine, cherry blossoms and maple leaves is painted in red lacquer with gold detailing. The design runs across all three drawer fronts. The lowest drawer also shows a gold-toned fence or screen motif. Each drawer has an antique-finish metal ring pull. The sides and top are finished in gold-flecked lacquer, the back is glossy black, and the chest stands on a low plinth base. It is a vintage Showa-era piece, compact enough for a desk or shelf, and can be used for small accessories, stationery or sewing items, or displayed as a decorative object.

The item will be carefully packaged and shipped by Japan Post or DHL, depending on the situation.

Due to the changes to the EU tax-free (VAT) system, Japan Post has become unable to ship certain goods valued at €150 or less to an increasing number of European countries. Depending on the destination and circumstances, the shipping method may therefore be changed from Japan Post to DHL.

Delivery normally takes approximately 3 weeks, or up to 3 months if the item is shipped by sea.

Please note that import duties, taxes, customs fees, and other charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility.

For customs clearance, your local customs office or delivery company may contact you by phone or email.
