Lammara Signed Scottish Studio Glass - Briefbeschwerer (2) - Schillerndes Glas

Lammara Glass, Scotland – Two Signed Studio Art Glass Paperweights – 2000 A striking pair of contemporary Scottish studio art-glass pieces by Lammara Glass, both signed and dated 2000. The two pieces share a deep cobalt-blue/purple glass body with highly iridescent colouring, but demonstrate distinctly different decorative techniques. The first piece is an approximately spherical glass paperweight/sculptural object with an intricate surface composed of numerous irregular, individually worked areas of iridescent glass. Depending on the angle of the light, the surface displays vivid shades of blue, turquoise, violet, purple, bronze, gold and pink, producing a highly reflective, almost oil-slick effect. The second piece is a more sculptural spherical form decorated with larger flowing applied glass elements. These form sweeping organic shapes across the dark blue body, with fine dragged lines and areas of iridescent purple, blue and bronze producing considerable depth and movement. Both pieces have been professionally polished to their bases and are individually signed “Lammara” and dated “2000”. Lammara is documented in the auction market as a maker of Scottish studio glass. Adams Auctioneers, Dublin, previously catalogued a signed iridescent studio-glass vase as “by Lammara”, dated circa 1996, while Mallams has catalogued a group as “Lammara Glass of Scotland These two works provide an interesting example of the experimentation with colour, iridescence and applied glass characteristic of studio glass production around the turn of the millennium. Maker: Lammara Glass Country: Scotland Date: 2000 Material: Art glass Type: Studio art glass / paperweight sculpture Signature: Lammara 2000 Condition: Very good vintage condition, with normal minor signs of age/use. Please examine photographs carefully as they form part of the condition description. About Lammara Lammara is a documented Scottish studio-glass name. An Adams auction record describes a signed iridescent studio-glass vase as “by Lammara”, while a Mallams auction catalogue refers to “Lammara Glass of Scotland”
