Shell (巻貝) & Crab Tea Objects (置物) - Skulptur Bronze - Japan (Ohne mindestpreis)

Title: Set of 2 bronze tea objects: shell and crab Technique: Lost-wax casting Shell dimensions: approx. H 3.5 × W 7 × D 5.2 cm (in), weight: 125 g Crab dimensions: approx. H 3 × W 7.2 × D 9 cm (in), weight: 116 g Material: Bronze Period: Mid to late Showa era (c.1950–1980) This refined set of Japanese tea objects comprises a thorny shell (巻貝) and a crab, traditional Japanese cast metal works. Ideal for tea display, desk appreciation and specialised collection of modern Japanese metalwork. The shell (巻貝) is covered with sharp spines, with finely sculpted surface texture. The crab is realistically modelled in a lively pose, with well-defined joints on legs and pincers. Both pieces are single castings made by the lost‑wax method, with exquisite detailing and rich surface texture. An original maker’s mark is cast on the underside of the crab. It is partially concealed beneath aged patina and casting texture, and the marking is hard to decipher clearly. Due to age, both pieces display natural oxidised patina, accumulated dust and wear from handling, together with scattered verdigris. No breaks, no repairs. Good vintage condition for its age. Shipping Notice Due to service adjustments, Taiwan Post EMS will suspend parcel deliveries to the following countries effective March 10, 2026: United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Israel, Pakistan, Maldives, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, Oman, Kuwait, Jordan, Lebanon, Greece, Egypt, Morocco.
