E.VAL & Ch. SCHNEIDER A nice French 1925-1930 art deco night lamp in nickel plated solid brass and a shade by Charles Schneider in coloured glass. A colour that in the Schneider archives is referred to as Tango. E. Val was a silversmith with his shop at 218 rue du Feaubourg Saint-Martin. Initially the company used mainly Bohemian glasses. But 1925 onwards Val made a small line of little lamps using Schneider shades. Added to the pictures a page out of the book by Guiseppe Cappa, La Genie Verrier de l'Europe, page 428, about E. Val. As well as some pics of an old Val catalogue. This documentation is no part of the auction. The base is signed with the usual Val signature. The Schneider shade is unsigned. The lamp is in excellent condition. The mounting is newly re-nickeled and patinated. The lamp is 15,1 cm high. And it comes newly wired with stylish cotton covered twisted wire and a European E14 socket. For the USA or Japan I will place an American candelabra base socket and US two-prong plug.
