EXTREM SCARCE. EXTREM SOUGHT-AFTER.
ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND WONDERFUL PHOTOBOOK by Bryan Schutmaat.

WITHOUT DOUBT ONE OF THE BEST PHOTOBOOKS OF THE LAST 15 YEARS.
...and if you have any doubts, ask Alec Soth :)

"Equipped with a large format view camera, and inspired by the poetry of Richard Hugo, Bryan Schutmaat combines portraits, landscapes, and still lifes in a series of photos that explores the lives of working people residing in small mountain towns and mining communities in the American West."
(from the publisher)

SUPER FRESH, LIKE NEW AND UNREAD CONDITION (still in publisher's plastic bag).

MY HIGHEST RECOMMENDATIONS.

Welcome to the newest edition of the SUPER POPULAR SINGLE-SELLER PHOTOBOOK-AUCTIONS by Ecki Heuser, 5Uhr30.com (Cologne, Germany) on CATAWIKI.
This time presenting a BEST-OF-SELECTION from my private collection and from recent acquisitions.

Silas Finch, New York. 2014. Second edition (came out one year after the first edition with identical size, content and layout; both editions were quickly sold-out).

Flexible offset-printed cover. Screwpost binding with custom fabricated steel spine. 300 x 340 mm. 102 pages. 42 full color plates printed with UV inks on Mohawk Superfine uncoated paper. Photos: Bryan Schutmaat. Design by Bryan Schutmaat and Keith Davis Young. Creative direction: Kevin Messina. Text in English.

Condition:
Inside and outside excellent, super fresh and clean with no marks and with no foxing; marginal trace of use, no
remarkable flaws or defects. Overall near mint, near perfect condition.

Great, extremely hard-to-find photobook by Bryan Schutmaat - in wonderful fresh condition.

"I wonder what my father saw in his most secret sight of the right life. It’s my guess he wanted to live out his life surrounded by friends and children and fertile fields of his own designing. I think he wanted to die believing he had been in on the creation of a good sweet place. Those old pilgrims believed stories in which the West was a promise, a far away place where decent people could escape the wreckage of the old world and start over. Come to me, the dream whispers, and you can have one more chance."
– William Kittredge (introduction of the book) -

"Bryan Schutmaat is a photographer based in Austin, Texas whose work has been widely exhibited and published. He has won numerous awards, including a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship, the Aperture Portfolio Prize, and an Aaron Siskind Fellowship. Bryan’s prints are held in many collections, such as Baltimore Museum of Art, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Pier 24 Photography, Rijksmuseum, and San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. He co-founded the imprint, Trespasser. Read below for more."
