The Concept: The main subject is an embodiment of boldness and relaxed confidence. Pink hair, glasses, the casual pose in the chair, the legendary Converse sneakers—all these details create the image of a person who lives life at their own pace. I wanted to capture a moment of deep contemplation, where the external world (suggested by the background) fades away. The title 'The Conformist' acts as a provocation, forcing the viewer to consider: what is considered the norm today, and what is rebellion? Can a vibrant, individual style, once it becomes a mass trend, itself become a new form of conformity? The Technique: I used oil paint and primarily worked with a palette knife to give the painting texture and expression. The background is painted in an abstract expressionist style: bright, energetic strokes of yellow, blue, and fuchsia create a pulsating, vibrating atmosphere that contrasts with the model's calm posture. This combination of figurative painting and an abstract background gives the work a modern and dynamic feel. The color palette is a play between the cool blue-violet tones of the clothing and the warm, luminous yellow shades of the background, which enhances the visual tension and draws the eye.
