Römisches Reich Glas Satz aus zwei römischen Glas-Schmuckgefäßen mit Irisierendem Effekt (1. – 3. Jahrhundert n. Chr.)
Set of two Roman Glass Adornment Vessels with Iridescence (1st – 3rd century AD)
A beautiful ensemble of two small Roman glass vessels, dating to the 1st – 3rd century AD. Each piece is free-blown and delicately shaped with intricate bodies and flaring rims. The surfaces display stunning iridescence, shimmering in hues of silver, green, blue, and violet — a natural result of centuries of burial and one of the most admired qualities of ancient Roman glass.
These vessels were likely used to hold precious perfumes, oils, or cosmetics, items of daily luxury in the Roman world. Their diminutive scale suggests they may also have been votive or funerary offerings, intended to accompany their owner into the afterlife.
