A pair of beautiful, gooseneck “Diablo” wall lamps are now up for auction! This model, of the Norwegian wall lamp, was produced by Solberg’s Fabrikker AS in the 1950s. They were made in several colors: red, white, black, yellow, blue. This is a nice pair of lamps, a Mid-century design from Scandinavia. These two lamps are the “model 6002” and they are painted in black, with a brass “gooseneck”. That color makes the unpolished brass stand out really nice. The lampshades are perforated at the end, which is a beautiful detail. The switches are placed on the base of the lamp, with a brass backplate, a beautiful detail. Both of the lamps have a long cord, making it easy to place the lamps on the wall and still get them connected to the grid. They can easily be made swivel on the base ( movable 180 degrees, from side to side ), by loosening the locking screws at the bottom of the gooseneck. Each lamp uses 1 bulb with a E27 base ( not included ). They are in good shape, with some light signs of use, since they are over 60 years old ! These lamps are on display in the Norwegian National Museum ( “Nasjonalmuseet” ), the National Museum of Art, and according to the museum this lamp with a diabolo lampshade was made in the mid 1950s.
