Pair of Ancient Roman Terracotta Oil Lamps Circa 1st-4th century AD This attractive pair of terracotta oil lamps comprises one larger circular lamp with a broad, rounded body, slightly recessed shoulder and a raised ring framing the wide central filling hole, the elongated nozzle projecting from the lower end and a small secondary hole pierced on the shoulder; the second, more compact lamp is of elongated, almond-shaped form with pointed nozzle, the upper surface around the filling hole decorated with a band of moulded ribs.
