A large (46 cm) Chinese famille verte powder-blue ground porcelain rouleau 'Figural' vase made after Kangxi models. China, Qing dynasty, mid 19th century. Most probably Daoguang (1820-1850) period. Very rare! Finely potted, the slightly tapered body rising to a cylindrical neck and everted mouth rim. Enamelled in the Kangxi style in strong colors with two rectangular cartouches separated by three shaped (leaf, multi-foil and round) panels. Large panel depicting an official sitting behind the desk and two ladies standing outside, other with official behind the desk, lady standing in front of him and boy playing outside the building. Small shaped panels depict riverside landscapes with boats, trees, islands, figures, mountains, fortress.., Neck with riverside landscape within scroll-shaped panels. All on beautiful powder-blue ground. Inscribed to the base with underglaze blue double circle in Kangxi style. Daylight pictures included. Provenance: private collection, Paris, France.
