The smaller incense container is by Shin Sang-ho. It has a soft green celadon glaze, rounded lid with small knob, and carved decoration around the lower body. There is a signature on the base. It comes with a later paulownia wooden box (not the original box). Shin Sang-ho is a leading Korean ceramist, active internationally as an exhibitor and professor at Hongik University, known for his role in modern Korean ceramic art. The second incense container is by Ji Soon-tak (Chi Soon-tak), an inlaid Goryeo celadon piece with the character “Ji (池)” incised inside the footring. The original wooden box bears his inscription and seals. Ji Soon-tak (1912–1993) was designated an Important Intangible Cultural Property technique holder (Living National Treasure) and is celebrated for reviving traditional Korean ceramics, establishing a kiln in Icheon and receiving the Korean Cultural Medal. The lid of this piece is slightly larger than the lower part, and the colour and design differ subtly, so there is a possibility that the lid and base may not originally have been made together. On the Ji Soon-tak incense container there is one very small dent on the lid, created during the firing process. Both pieces show minor signs of use but remain in good used condition.
