Medieval, Crusaders Era Silver Signet Ring Circa 12th-14th century AD This superb silver signet ring has a solid, slightly tapering hoop broadened towards a drop-shaped bezel with a smoothly rounded edge, the flat surface engraved with a series of linear strokes. The Crusades were a series of military campaigns undertaken by European Christians in the medieval period, primarily during the 11th to 13th centuries. These expeditions were motivated by religious, economic, and political factors and aimed to reclaim Jerusalem and other holy sites in the Eastern Mediterranean, which had fallen under Islamic control.
