NO RESERVE PRICE AND FREE WORLDWIDE SHIPPING 1. General information Artist: The Beatles Album: Meet The Beatles! Label: Capitol Records Catalog Number: T 2047 Format: Vinyl, LP, Album, Mono Country: US Released: 1964 Edition: 1st US Pressing (Scranton Variant 1) Genre: Rock, Beat, Pop Rock 2. Description This is a highly collectible First US Mono Pressing of the album that launched the "British Invasion" in America. This copy is the sought-after "East Coast" Variant 1, pressed at the Capitol Records plant in Scranton, PA. It is distinguished by two key features found only on the earliest labels: the absence of the "Produced by George Martin" credit and the BMI publishing credit for the opening track I Want To Hold Your Hand (which was quickly changed to ASCAP on later pressings). The cover features the number "3" on the back, indicating it was printed by Modern Album of Long Island, NY, specifically for the Scranton plant. 3. Condition Vinyl: Very Good (VG) Circular surface scuff from stacking. Not feelable to the touch. Plays through without skipping, possibly some mild background noise. Cover: Very Good Plus (VG+) The jacket is intact but shows obvious age. There is very minor ring wear on the front, and the back cover has significant staining/foxing (brown spots) typical of paper from this era. Edges and corners show minor wear. Small tear on edge. 4. Notes for collectors This is the earliest label variation (Variant 1). Publishing Credits: Side 1, Track 1 ("I Want To Hold Your Hand") is credited to BMI. Track 2 ("I Saw Her Standing There") is credited to ASCAP. This mix of credits is unique to the first run. There is NO "Produced by George Martin" credit on the label. The stamped triangle with "IAM" inside in the runout identifies this as a Scranton pressing. The number "3" near the RIAA logo on the back cover confirms the jacket was made by Modern Album, strictly associated with Scranton pressings. 5. Matrix/labels Label: Black "Rainbow" Capitol label without subsidiary text. Runout Side A: T-1-2047-F1 | [Triangle symbol with "IAM"] Runout Side B: T-2-2047 | [Triangle symbol with "IAM"]
