The album was a cathartic project for McCartney, which he recorded shortly after the death of his wife Linda McCartney. He collaborated with musicians such as David Gilmour (Pink Floyd), Mick Green and Ian Paice (Deep Purple) to capture a raw energy recorded live in the studio.
