Paul Wullems

This is a particularly beautiful Dutch vine cabinet in a high-quality design.
Refinedly carved tendrils decorate the stiles and center needle next to the doors.
The doors are very solid and heavily made.
They are 7 to 8 cm. thick and weigh 40 to 50 kg each and hinges smoothly in their forged brass hinges.
Pivots are a kind of hinge that is not noticeable. They have been used since the 16th century.
The wood in the doors is processed in such a way that the direction of the grain creates a trompe-loeil effect of deep cushions. Very nicely done.
The style is Baroque but Dutch Baroque, unlike in Germany, for example, not exuberant but rather modest.
You could almost call it austere. Due to the influence of Calvinism.
This creates a powerful image.
Beautiful profiles and calm, balanced proportions.

Beautiful and well-finished oak interior.
The top shelf has a wide drawer.
This is glued with nuts again.
A wide drawer under the doors, see photos.
Heavy blackened ball feet (original) match this style.
The lock works and the key is original.
