Un volume in-8 (190x130 mm), cartonnage vert, dos lisse (reliure éditeur de l'époque). Usures et frottements sur les plats et le dos, coiffes tassées. Quelques rousseurs mais l'ensemble est majoritairemet exempt.

Nouvelle édition ornée de figures dans le texte et de 3 gravures hors-texte en fin d'ouvrage figurant des mouches. 

«The Compleat Angler» est un traité de pêche écrit par Izaac Walton puis complétée par Charles Cotton. L’œuvre aborde le thème de la pêche à la ligne sous la forme d’un dialogue entre plusieurs personnages, et se présente comme une succession de conseils ou d’astuces visant à assurer au lecteur la meilleure pêche possible. La deuxième partie de l'ouvrage contient la section complémentaire écrite par Charles Cotton initulée «Instructions how to angle for a trout or grayling in a clear stream», soit des instructions supplémentaires pour pêcher à la ligne une truite ou un ombre dans un ruisseau clair.
