Grand fétiche Nkisi – Bakongo – République démocratique du Congo
Puissance rituelle, présence sculpturale et objet de prestige

Propriété d’un collectionneur belge chevronné, constitué au fil de nombreuses années de collecte.

Ce grand fétiche Nkisi Bakongo s’impose par sa forte présence et la qualité de sa sculpture. La figure, solidement campée sur une base circulaire, présente une posture frontale affirmée, symbole d’autorité et d’efficacité rituelle. Le visage, particulièrement soigné, se distingue par une expression intense : yeux incrustés soulignés de pigments clairs, bouche entrouverte et oreilles saillantes, conférant à l’ensemble une force expressive remarquable.

La charge magique ventrale, soigneusement refermée par un miroir ancien, atteste de l’activation rituelle de l’objet par un nganga, spécialiste des pratiques spirituelles Bakongo. La surface révèle une belle patine d’usage, profonde et nuancée, fruit de manipulations répétées et d’un long parcours rituel. Les traces de pigmentation renforcent la lecture symbolique et la valeur esthétique de l’ensemble.
