La Balda Baldaxette I è una fotocamera tedesca prodotta dalla Balda negli anni del dopoguerra, appartenente a una serie di macchine fotografiche compatte e pieghevoli molto diffuse in Europa tra gli anni ’40 e ’50. Questo modello si distingue per il suo design elegante e classico, con struttura metallica, rivestimento in similpelle e il caratteristico soffietto richiudibile che permetteva di rendere la fotocamera più compatta durante il trasporto.

La Baldaxette I utilizzava generalmente pellicola di medio formato e offriva un funzionamento completamente manuale, richiedendo al fotografo il controllo diretto di tempi, apertura e messa a fuoco. Come molte fotocamere dell’epoca, era progettata per una fotografia lenta e ragionata, dove ogni scatto veniva preparato con attenzione.

Le ottiche montate su queste macchine potevano variare a seconda della configurazione, ma erano spesso apprezzate per la resa morbida e molto caratteristica, tipica della fotografia vintage europea. Anche dal punto di vista estetico la Baldaxette I conserva ancora oggi un forte fascino retrò, grazie alle finiture meccaniche e al sistema pieghevole che richiama immediatamente le grandi fotocamere classiche del Novecento.
