Tirage limité à 502 exemplaires dont 420 sur Vergé d’Arches, celui-ci numéroté 212. Edition Ornée de trente-six ravissantes aquarelles de Pierre LAPRADE dont 20 aquarellées au pochoir (un frontispice, une vignette de titre, 3 à pleine page et 15 in-texte dont 2 répétés sur la couverture et 16 in-texte en noir). 
Exemplaire élégamment relié avec couvertures conservées. Dos légèrement insolé. Légers frottements aux mors. Intérieur dénué de rousseurs. 

Ce n'est qu'au sortir de la première guerre mondiale, à l'abord de la cinquantaine, que la célébrité de Paul Valéry éclate en tant que poète avec la publication de La Jeune Parque (1917). Il devient dès lors immensément célèbre en tant qu'intellectuel et homme de lettres.
Sollicité de toute part pour donner des conférences et produire des articles, interlocuteur des plus grands scientifiques et penseurs de l'époque, il devient une sorte de « héros intellectuel » national. Élu à l'Académie française, professeur au collège de France, sa célébrité ne s'éclipse pas jusqu'à sa mort, tout à la fin de la Seconde Guerre mondiale.

Paul Nizan n’hésitait pas à le qualifier de « haut fonctionnaire de la langue française ».

Occasionally, two different bidders may show up in the bidding history with the same bid amount. This occurs when one user's bid is exactly the same as an automatic (maximum) bid placed by another user earlier. Since the auto-bid was placed first, this takes preference. The bidding history will show both bids, with the auto-bid ranked as the higher of the two.


Double bid

It may appear that the same bid has been placed by two different bidders. This can occur if someone places a bid in another currency which is then rounded to the same amount as the previous bid in %{local_currency}.
