Les natures mortes flamandes du XVII-ème siècle inspirent Lucariello qui s'infiltre dans cette "œuvre vivante".

"Lucariello met en scène cet autre, son double, qui apparait sur la table d'offrandes tel une vanité , il se fait fantôme, présent ou en lévitation, il fait sa déclaration aux objet et crée des images à tendance atomique ou la couverture de survie le protège."

Saverio Lucariello est remarqué au sortir de l’école des Beaux-Arts de Naples par le cri que d’art contemporain 
Achille Bonito Oliva qui le présente dans un accrochage collectif avec neuf autres artistes. 
 
En 1986, l’artiste installe à Paris ses œuvres aux cimaises de la galerie Antoine Candau.  

Après une exposition personnelle à Castres en 1988, l’artiste est invité à investir la cour du Musée Carnavalet en 
1991. Un autre cri que d’art Bernard Lamarche-Vadel loue son emprunt intuitif à l’arte povera, au minimalisme 
américain et son apport à la trans-avant-garde italienne.  

Par la suite, l’artiste exposera à la Galerie Loft, galerie Janos, galerie Philippe Rizzo… 
 
En 1995, Lucariello sera présent à la Biennale de Venise sous la houlette de Jean-Yves Jouannais.  

1996 marque le début d’une collaboration avec la Galerie Georges-Philippe et Nathalie Vallois qui durera près 
de 15 ans.  

En 1999, avec pour curateur Harald Szeemann, Lucariello expose à la Biennale de Venise sous la forme d’un 
nouveau média, la vidéo, preuve de l’aspect protéiforme de son expression artistique.  

Près de 40 expositions personnelles et le double d’expositions collectives ont amené l’artiste aux quatre coins 
de l’Europe en passant par Philadelphie en 1999 et par New York en 2013. 

Notons ses deux dernières expositions, celle de la Galerie Christophe Gaillard en 2019 et celle du Centre d’art 
contemporain à Meymac en 2020, où se côtoient tableaux, sculptures et installations vidéo.  

Une monographie consacrée à l’artiste est en cours par Olivier Kaeppelin aux Éditions Lord Byron.  

Une vente au enchère célébrant son œuvre a eu lieu dans la fameuse maison de vente de Paris 9-ème arrondissement en octobre 2023.
