Rare early German series of moral dialogues in which animals speak about human vices and virtues. The title translates as “The Speaking Animals on Human Errors and Vices, entertaining and useful to read in quiet hours.”
The work is generally attributed to Christoph Gottlieb Richter (1716–1774), a German jurist and writer, although some editions appeared anonymously. Originally published in Frankfurt and Leipzig in the mid-18th century, the series extended over several volumes.
Bound in contemporary full leather with gilt lettering and gilt decoration on spine.
Condition: Good. Covers are worn, corners bumped, some pages are stained. Apart from that, the book is in general good condition.
