The title translates as “The Speaking Animals on Human Errors and Vices, entertaining and useful to read in quiet hours.” The work is generally attributed to Christoph Gottlieb Richter (1716–1774), a German jurist and writer, although some editions appeared anonymously. Originally published in Frankfurt and Leipzig in the mid-18th century, the series extended over several volumes. Bound in contemporary full leather with gilt lettering and gilt decoration on spine. Condition: Good. Covers are worn, corners bumped, some pages are stained. Apart from that, the book is in general good condition.
