You are bidding on a very fine 4/4 violin, labeled Giuseppe Ornati fece in Milano Anno 1925 G.O.M G.Ornati. The instrument is in good condition with no cracks. The violin has an excellent straight high grained spruce of the top and two pieces back of strongly flamed maple with matched sides and scroll. The purfling is professionally executed and the edges are masterfully done. The original varnish of golden amber reddish color remains in good condition with some minor tears and wears. The whole length of the violin is 590 mm and the back 356 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 163 mm; middle bouts: 110 mm; lower bouts: 204 mm.
