Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Swan Mabie Todd & Co. fountain pen, model 3, gold plated, made in the United States, from the early 20th century, about 133 mm long with a 10 mm diameter, in used good condition with wear and imperfections, in working order, supplied with the original Swan case showing significant age-related wear.
Description from the seller
Pluma Swan (Mabie Todd & Co.) original, in used condition, consistent with an antique piece showing genuine wear from the passage of time.
The body and the cap, with richly engraved decoration and gold finish, retain their intact structure, with no visible dents or cracks. The gold shows widespread wear, with loss of luster, micro-scratches, and areas where the plating is visibly diminished, especially in contact and handling zones. The engravings remain clearly visible, although softened by use.
The cap fits correctly, maintaining its functionality, with signs of use consistent with the age of the piece.
The Swan nib shows noticeable wear, with partial loss of the gold finish and visible dark patina on both sides. The tip maintains its structural shape, but the condition is clearly used, not suitable to be considered in excellent or like-new condition.
The pen shows no breaks or missing pieces, retaining all its original elements.
The original Swan case is included, showing significant wear, with marks, tears, and aging of the material typical of its age. The case should be considered original and of historical value, but it is in fragile condition.
