Corneille (1922-2010) was a painter and graphic artist who radicalized the conservative Dutch art world in the early 1950s. Together with five other influential artists, including Karel Appel and Constant, he founded the post-war European expressionist movement CoBrA in 1948. Between 1940 and 1942, Corneille took drawing and etching courses at the Academy of Fine Arts in Amsterdam, but he is generally considered an autodidact painter. Initially heavily influenced by Picasso's work, Corneille created abstract art. From the late 1960s onwards, Corneille's work took on a more figurative character. In this work, birds, women, and flowers are often the subjects.

Viewing is, of course, possible. Additionally, we have our own in-house framing workshop, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary.
