Rare antique solid wood box, in good condition for its age, showing natural patina and signs of use typical of period objects.
Estimated date, Qajar period (1789/1925).
The marquetry technique (khatam Kari), bone wood, metal and ebony were used in traditional Islamic geometric patterns, a centuries-old.
Its round shape was typical of jewelry boxes of that era, and the interior of the box is lined with a red/orange textile material.
The box is equipped with a small round metal handle at the top and 3 round metal feet at the bottom, reflecting the craftsmanship of artisans and is an authentic example of oriental decorative art from the late 19th century.
