The Complete Works of Molière illustrated with engravings from the author's era and including the monumental series by Boucher, Coypel, Moreau the Younger, Buguet, Desenne, Johannot, Horace Vernet, Hédouin, and the so-called 'Unknown' Series - In Paris, at Jean de Bonnot's, 1970 - Complete 6 Volumes - Publisher's full ruby red leather bindings, with cold-stamped vegetal decor on the covers and adorned at the centers with a gilded mascaron, smooth spines with title and volume numbers, decorated with gilded vegetal motifs, gilded headbands, and illustrated endpapers and flyleaves with stylized gilded lilies on a royal blue background, printed on watermarked laid paper - Frontispieces for each volume: Various portraits of Jean-Baptiste Poquelin, known as 'Molière' - Abundantly and richly illustrated with full-page plates, headbands, and tailpieces.
The set is in very good condition; however, the upper cover of volume IV is worn (see photos).
