De Historie der Martelaren by Claas Bruin is a single-volume Dutch illustrated religious work, first edition in this format, published in Leiden in 1747, consisting of 818 pages (33 cm by 21 cm) in a leather binding, in good condition, with over 150 engravings and a frontispiece.

From the week of Christ our Savior's blessings, until the year fifteen hundred fifty-five.
Decorated with more than four hundred fifty copper plates, and all the martelifatiën very curious.
According to the nature and features of the land and places, and a brief content summary for the reader's convenience above each plate.
This edition is augmented with a continuation, beginning with the unheard horrors committed during the time of the Reformation in France; and corrected of numerous misrepresentations and old spurious stories.
A brief outline of the histories in poetry meter is also included here under each Printverbeelding.
