Description from the seller
Art Deco vase 'Greta' - pink Perspex glass (pressed glass) - Walther & Söhne (1930s)
Description of the lot
A rare and beautiful Art Deco vase, model 'Greta', crafted by the renowned German glass factory Walther & Söhne in the 1930s. This iconic piece is made of a stunning salmon pink (light apricot) pressed glass, characteristic of the 'Luxus Glas' collection from that period.
The vase embodies the elegance of the Art Deco style through its pronounced geometric and architectural design. The design is dominated by an imposing fan- or butterfly-shaped opening resting on a sturdy, stacked square base. The details are accentuated by vertically pleated, stylized motifs that create a lively light reflection.
Walther & Söhne, based in Germany (Saxony), was known for their high-quality and decorative pressed glassware, and the 'Greta' is one of their most collected models.
