Description from the seller
Jeep Grand Wagoneer 1987
The Grand Wagoneer model, introduced to the market in the 1960s, pioneered the luxury SUV segment long before it became popular. In the 1980s, the Grand Wagoneer cemented its position as a symbol of American motoring – combining comfort and sophistication with true off-road capabilities. Today, these vehicles enjoy classic status, recognizable by their distinctive imitation wood trim and robust silhouette.
This example was manufactured in 1987 and privately imported to Poland in 2007. Since then, it has been part of an American car collection near Warsaw. The car was regularly maintained in good technical condition and underwent a series of restoration works.
Bodywork and paint
The bodywork is in very good condition – free of corrosion marks and with an even paint coating. The car underwent a full body and paint renovation shortly after being imported into the country. The paint looks good and retains its gloss; its condition can still be improved with professional polishing. All chrome elements are complete and clean, without any damage. The seals have retained their elasticity and do not leak water. The windows and headlights are original, in good condition, without cracks or fogging. No signs of accident repairs or welding areas have been detected.
Technical condition
The Jeep underwent an engine overhaul after being imported to Poland. The original carburetor fuel system was replaced with a modern fuel injection system controlled by the Ecumaster EMU unit – improving reliability and engine smoothness without losing the original character. The power unit starts without issues, runs smoothly and cleanly, and the automatic transmission shifts seamlessly and without jerks.
The suspension, steering system, and brakes are functional and ensure stable handling. No fluid leaks were detected. The tires are in good condition, with even tread. The car has undergone regular technical inspections; the current inspection is valid until August 2026. The vehicle is insured and registered in Poland.
Interior
The cabin retains the typical 1980s luxury SUV atmosphere. The upholstery and door panels are in very good condition, with minor signs of use. The headliner is clean and taut. The dashboard is intact without cracks. Most interior elements are original, with preserved wooden appliqués and factory switch layout. All electrical systems, including the heater, gauges, cabin lighting, and electric windows, are functioning properly. The right rear door handle needs reinstallation. The rear tailgate window lowering mechanism is not working.
Documentation
The car has a complete set of documents: a Polish registration certificate, proof of valid technical inspections, and an liability insurance policy.
At the buyer's request, it is possible to organize secure transportation within the European Union—for example, delivery to central France costs approximately €1,000–€1,200.
A meticulously restored example of one of the most recognizable American SUVs. The 1987 Jeep Grand Wagoneer combines classic style with practical, modern mechanical upgrades – an ideal choice for automotive enthusiasts from across the ocean and collectors who value luxury in an off-road version.

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
