Description from the seller
Authentic 19th-century Cologne jug, made of stoneware and finished in the characteristic gray-blue tone with cobalt-blue decoration. This type of jug was traditionally used for the storage and transport of liquids and is a fine example of German utilitarian earthenware from the Rhine region.
The jug has an elegant, slender form with a sturdy neck and handle. The hand-painted blue decoration gives it a lively and distinctive appearance. Thanks to its sober yet powerful look, this object fits both a classic and a country or historic interior.
