Three (out of 4) parts of the reading cabinet from 1839 - Amsterdam, Hendrik Frijland, 1839 - quarter cloth bindings - (VIII) 288; (VIII) 280; (VIII) 304 pages
Poor condition. Abrasions and impact spots on the bands, paper loss on the plates. Inner pages discolored/browned, with some spots and a few foxing marks. Inner margins are open in places, several gatherings are coming loose. Some engravings are loose, with tears of 1 to 2 cm in the margins of 8 pages. The edges of 4 pages are slightly torn.
Part 1: no spine strip, loose cardboard band, paper loss on the plates, open inner hinges - the book block is falling apart, loose pages - 7 engravings (moisture stain in the margin extending somewhat into the image of most).
Part 3: The book block falls apart, quires and leaves loose - 9 engravings.
Part 4: inner hinges open, play in some gatherings - 7 engravings.
