Description from the seller
Bos Germaan
Germaan Bos (pseudonym of Van Den Bossche Germain) is a Belgian artist born in 1937 in Ronse. He is a painter and graphic artist. He studied at the Academy in Oudenaarde and at Sint-Lucas in Ghent, where he also studied graphics. He debuted with landscapes and still lifes, then experimented with surrealism, but returned to his old love: the landscapes of the Oudenaarde-Ronse region, his Flemish Ardennes, and still lifes that shimmer softly with a velvety glow. According to the press: "It is astonishing how, with this vibrant temperament, the landscapes can sometimes rest in such a stroked, dreamy light." He settled in 1962 in Edelare, later in Elzele. Professionally, he worked as a geographic draftsman. He is mentioned in Two Centuries of Signatures of Belgian Artists. Source: Paul Piron, The Belgian Visual Artists from the 19th to the 21st Century.
