Tsubaki to Koshi (椿と古寺) - Anonymous - Japan (No reserve price)

Work Name: Tsubaki to Koshi (椿と古寺) Artist: Anonymous Technique: Woodblock Print Artist’s Markings: Signed (pencil) and Sealed on the Print Paper Size: 32 × 31.5 cm (12.60 × 12.40 in) Image Size: 25 × 22 cm (9.84 × 8.66 in) Paper Material: Washi (和紙) This exquisite woodblock print was created by a Japanese artist around the 1990s, and it is a classic example of modern Japanese Sōsaku-hanga (創作版画). The composition features the roof of a traditional Japanese temple in irimoya-zukuri (入母屋造,hip-and-gable roof) style as the background, with large, white-spotted red camellias—known as tsubaki (椿,a classic Japanese floral motif)—adorning the foreground. Using a striking color contrast of black, red, and green paired with geometric lines, the work presents a distinct decorative visual style. The artist’s pencil signature appears in the bottom right corner of the print, while the artist’s seal is stamped in the top left corner. Due to the passage of time, the washi paper shows slight signs of aging, including oxidized yellowing and faint yellow spots. Overall, the work is in good condition. - The picture is part of the description. The color of the item may be slightly different from the picture (due to camera and screen settings). - The successful bidder will be responsible for any customs duties and taxes (if applicable). - This item will be mailed by the postal service of Taiwan in the form of airmail with insurance attached.
