Description： This distinctive Japanese lacquer incense container (kōgō) is executed in the Okinawan Benpō (Benkei-nuri / Benpō-nuri) style, a regional lacquer tradition known for its bold colors and raised decorative surfaces. The rounded form is finished in a vivid red lacquer, serving as a striking ground for the relief floral design on the lid. Leaves and stems are rendered in deep green, while the blossom appears in a warm yellow tone, all built up with thick layers of colored lacquer to create a sculptural, tactile presence.
