Description from the seller
Early Art Deco wall coat rack with mirror and hat shelf – circa 1930–1940
Elegant early Art Deco wall-mounted coat rack, dating from the interwar period (circa 1930–1940).
This original vintage piece combines functional design with refined decorative details typical of early Art Deco, still influenced by late Jugendstil aesthetics.
The coat rack is made of solid wood (likely oak or oak veneer on a solid base) with a rich dark patina. It features original metal hooks (brass or brass-plated) with characteristic curved shapes, as well as stylized carved wooden ornaments with flowing scroll motifs, transitional between Jugendstil and early Art Deco.
At the center, the piece is fitted with an original oval mirror, held by decorative metal fixings. The upper part includes a metal hat shelf with parallel rods, a classic feature of high-quality European hall furniture from the period.
