Description from the seller
Artistic photography – Limited edition print
Edition: 2/30
Format: 40/40 cm
This work reveals the interior of an old thermal establishment now left abandoned.
The empty pool, marked by time, features entirely cracked blue tiles and walls covered in peeling paint. The large arches and tall windows let in a soft, powdery light that gently caresses the worn surfaces.
Every detail bears the memory of the place: the peeling paint, the deep cracks in the walls, the traces of humidity, the long shadows.
It is a suspended, calm scene—almost sacred—a space where silence has replaced the shouts and footsteps of the past.
Natural light reveals the fragile beauty of faded blues, the relief of the concrete, and the lines of the basin.
A fragment of time that persists despite forgetfulness.
Word from the artist
I photograph these forgotten places as one collects a fragile memory.
I see a sincere, raw beauty, without artifice.
This abandoned pool tells a story that 'new' places will never say.
the passage of time, solitude, silent memory.
In the cracked walls, I find my own flaws.
In the light that still passes through these windows, I find hope.
I want to show that even what has been abandoned continues to exist, continues to touch, continues to live.
True beauty is often where no one looks.
— Tristan Mottier
