Kaws – Monochrome Tears by Pythia reinterprets, in a personal and unofficial way, the iconic seated figure of Kaws, transforming it into a collectible object with a strong emotional impact. It is a free artistic reinterpretation and not an original or authorized Kaws item: the sculpture, painted in glossy white, is crossed by black drips flowing from the head to the shoes, highlighting the gesture of the hands covering the face and amplifying the sense of vulnerability.
The stark contrast between black and white evokes the language of minimal design and street art, while irregular drips suggest emotions overflowing, between melancholy and introspection. In this version, Pythia uses the subject as a universal symbol of contemporary fragility, signing a piece that dialogues with pop imagery but maintains its own autonomous and recognizable identity.
